Gallery 956 (Sep 27, 2023). There are many "swan mussels" in "our" ponds that have difficulty surviving when the pond dries out and the mussels become visible on the muddy pond bottom. Their biggest enemies are the birds that eat them. I have saved some of them by moving them to deeper water. But honestly, I was most attracted to the pearly shells. Therefore, I waded across the pond in my gogo boots and ended up standing in the muddy water up to their tops. Have fun watching! (32 pictures and 4:34 min video in the members area).
