Gallery 880 (Apr 13, 2022). This pond is very rarely drained, but when it is, it's a dream. A huge pond land with waist deep soft mud in places. And in the middle of it, a peninsula where even cormorants have their night quarters. We really wanted to pay a visit to this idyllic spot. However, that required quite a long march through the deep estuary mud. I took waders just in case, because I wasn't sure I could get through with my knee-high fashion boots. But the walk to the island was fantastic and great fun, even if I sank over my knees. (36 pictures and 6:12 min video in the members area).
