After some struggle through muddy ground we eventually came to a swampy area which was closely covered with green duckweed. I felt sufficiently protected with my high boots and rubber trousers so I ventured to wade through. But it was stickier than thought; the ground was deep and I got more than once stuck in the deep mire. Good having the stick. I am not sure if I could have managed to come free without it.
